jazz waterfall
I made this poster as part of the TTP course organised by Dafi Kühne in Nafels, Switzlernad. This is a poster for a jazz competition for young musicians that will take place in Nafel at the foot of the waterfalls. I tried to find a metaphor that well conveys the rhythm of jazz and the energy of youth (see the last pic). I tried to simplify the poster graphic language to the point of minimalism, working with such simple elements as “lines” that are rhythmically arranged on the sheet, repeating the movement of the water in a waterfall. After some examination, the words “waterfall” emerge. The second level of this poster’s typography features a repeating rhythm of lines. The choice of paper and color was also an important part of the poster's concept. The Bavaria Glossy White 70 gram2 paper is so thin, the silver colour shimmer and reflect sunlight like a water surface. Thanks to Dafi and all the invited designers for the journey into the world of analogue printing!
