Maboroshi. Deeppa records
Designed for the release of Maboroshi by Henna Onna, this visual for the vinyl cover and poster explores the intersection of sound, landscape, and Japanese visual culture. Drawing from mountain scenery, sumi-e brushwork, and the iconic red sun motif, the composition is constructed from layered, weathered textures that evoke both geological formations and traces of ink on paper. Rather than serving as a conventional promotional image, the poster was conceived as a contemplative visual object. Through texture, rhythm, and negative space, it translates the record’s atmosphere into a tactile landscape, inviting a slower, more immersive way of seeing. The work seeks to express not only how the music sounds, but how it feels: vast, ephemeral, and suspended somewhere between memory, landscape, and silence.
