the sportsmen

I was inspired by Kazimir Malevich and his artwork “sportsmen”. I decided to make a more abstract poster by drawing from and simplifying the shapes in his artwork, yet aiming to maintain the rhythm. A circle is a universal shape, but once you add specific context vis a vis typography and colour palette, our perception of the circle is influenced by it. With Malevich colour palette in mind, the simple circle becomes the “missing” sportsmen’s foot-ball in the artist’s painting. Fonts used: Gravity variable by abcdinamo
