Korea is a country of amazing contrasts, where skyscrapers rise against the backdrop of a Buddhist temple, hanbok and casual clothing, folk and K-pop. Therefore, I wanted to combine the modern style and shape of the chair with a folk ornament. Still, I played with ideas of the chair’s lightness, so I chose clouds. I suggested a 4-colour palette that I have frequently seen inside Korean temples during my travels. It could be considered to offer the consumer the possibility to choose different colours for the left and right sides of the chair, thereby allowing the client to personalize the product.
